SWAM Ambassador, local vet and World Record holding long distance swimmer Ollie Wilkinson
We are delighted that Ollie is supporting our SWAM appeal and will be launching the Sandford Lido SWAM week from Sunday July 16th. We haven’t asked Ollie how many metres he has swum in his career – but we suspect he is the only person we know who probably has ‘swam across the moon!’
Dee and Griffin Solicitors support the Chamwell Centre Charity on 5km Inflatable Fun Run
The 5km Inflatable Fun Run took place in Chepstow on Sunday 23rd April. Fifteen members of Dee and Griffin took part to raise funds for the Chamwell Centre Charity.
Lesley-Anne Gunn, partner at Dee and Griffin took part in the event and spoke with Chamwell Centre Charity Chair of Fundraising, Helen Mackinnon at the end.
‘The race was fantastic. Not just a 5k run but one with 10 giant inflatable obstacles to get over. It really helped in team-building as well as getting people involved in raising money for a great cause. As a group of 15 we stuck together and helped each other out through the challenges obstacles. We had a big gap in experience – from a marathon runner to someone like me who had only recently started running. We made sure that team Dee and Griffin reached the finishing line together.’
‘At Dee and Griffin we feel a responsibility to put something back into our community – this was a great way to do this and we benefitted as a team too.’
Helen Mackinnon said ‘We are very grateful to Dee and Griffin staff for their support and they are the first Gloucestershire company to make us their Charity of the Year.
